The IT infra team provides support and maintenance of software/application at the University through 24/7 available Help Desk. The team installs and configures software/applications on computers/laptops. This support is provided for applications currently available through the distribution service with a valid license. The team keeps the university license agreement for applications.

The team supervises application license purchase/ renewal and conducts awareness sessions for applications usages.

License Purchase and Renewal – Infra Team purchases and renews the licenses for software/ applications. Department has the discretion of purchasing various types of licenses. The quotations/tenders from various vendors are evaluated by the respective authority.

Awareness sessions – IT Infra Team organizes sessions for the Ashoka community through events, email, and in-person meetings. These kinds of sessions introduce the responsibility of each user to be aware of the software license restrictions, and legality of the software that they use. The use of illegal or improperly licensed software on university systems is prohibited.

Major Purchases and Renewal of desktop applications are as follows;

Stata – Stata is a complete, integrated statistical software/application package that provides data analysis, data management, and graphical representation of data. Stata is an application that stores and manages data for large and small data sets, undertakes statistical analysis of data, and creates graphs. This software is commonly used among researchers, particularly those working with very large data sets.

Camtasia – Camtasia Studio records screen activity, then edit the recording by adding annotations to draw attention to areas of the screen. the final video file that may be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, and other platforms.

Overleaf – Overleaf is a collaborative cloud-based LaTeX editor used for writing, editing, and publishing scientific documents. It also provides a collection of useful templates for various use cases to publish documents.

CorelDRAW – CorelDRAW is a graphic design and illustration tool that enables users to develop and edit various vector designs using different operating systems and devices. The marketing, advertising, and design teams of Ashoka University will find the tool handy when creating Newsletters, advertisements, and publication materials.
